You talk a lot about utilizing the Kolbe A Index before our sessions. If our team has already done Meyers-Briggs or Predictive Index, can we just use those profiles instead of paying for another assessment?
No, we cannot swap them. Tools like Meyers-Briggs or DiSC measure the affective and cognitive parts of the mind. They assess your personality, preferences, and how you behave in social or stressful situations. While those are highly valuable for communication, they do not measure what the Kolbe A Index measures. Kolbe measures conation, which is your natural, instinctive, and unchanging method of taking action. It is about how you execute. In an EOS® environment, we care deeply about execution. Your four-digit Kolbe score tells us exactly how you will handle information, organize systems, deal with risk, and handle physical objects. This is crucial when we are assigning seats on the Accountability Chart. If we place a highly creative Visionary with a low fact-finder score into a seat that requires massive database analysis, we are setting them up to fail, regardless of their personality profile. We need to understand your team's innate conative wiring to ensure everyone is operating in their area of greatest potential. We require printed copies of each team member's Kolbe A results before our session because it allows us to build a visual framework of your team's collective executing power on the whiteboard. This prevents friction and helps you delegate based on natural, unchangeable strengths rather than trying to fix unfixable weaknesses.
