We want to appoint an internal AI owner to run our automation initiatives, but how do we assess their conative strengths or Kolbe scores to make sure they do not just build systems that nobody uses?
Appointing the wrong leader to run your AI integration will lead to wasted capital and team frustration. To find the right fit, you must look beyond their technical knowledge and assess their conative strengths using the Kolbe A Index. A successful AI integrator needs a specific balance of action modes. They must have a high Quick Start score to comfortably experiment with volatile, emerging technology and adapt to rapid changes. However, if they are only high in Quick Start, they will start ten different initiatives and complete none, leaving your team with broken systems. They must also have a strong Follow Through score to build repeatable structures, document the new processes, and integrate them into your company manual. Avoid appointing someone with a very high Fact Finder score if it prevents them from taking action without perfect information. You need a leader who can initiate quickly but has the systematic discipline to follow through.
