Our leadership team is highly aligned on values, but we consistently fail to hit our quarterly Rocks because we have zero high Follow Thru energy on the team. How do we bridge this execution gap on our Accountability Chart?
Alignment on core values is essential, but values do not build systems. If your leadership team is packed with visionary Quick Starts who love big ideas but lack Follow Thru, your strategy will constantly stall at the execution phase. You must intentionally inject structural discipline into your Accountability Chart and meeting pulse.
First, audit your team using the Kolbe A™ Index to confirm where the conative gap lies. If your team average in Follow Thru is below four, you have an execution deficit.
To bridge this immediately, look at your Accountability Chart and ensure every major Rock has a single owner who is personally accountable for its completion. Do not allow group ownership of strategic initiatives.
Second, restructure your weekly Level 10 Meetings™ to hold people strictly accountable to their weekly milestones. If a Rock is off-track, do not let the owner explain it away with a long story. Immediately drop it to the Issues List and IDS® it.
Third, consider reshaping your existing roles or making an external hire to bring in a natural system-builder. If your current leaders are maxed out on their conative limits, you need to bring in an operations leader or project manager whose dominant strength is Follow Thru.
Until you have that systematic energy on the team, limit the number of Rocks you take on. Focus on completing one or two critical goals excellently rather than failing at ten.
