It is easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day operational weeds and lose sight of the bigger picture. If your Level 10 Meeting™ is purely reactive, you are likely ignoring your long-term strategy and running the risk of drifting off course.

To keep your vision front and center, you must integrate the V/TO® into your weekly rhythm. While the Level 10 Meeting™ is tactical, it must be guided by your strategic goals.

The easiest way to do this is during the Rock Review. Every time you review a Rock, you must remember that Rocks are the ninety-day milestones designed to help you achieve your 1-Year Plan and your 3-Year Picture. If a Rock is off-track, it directly threatens your long-term goals.

Additionally, you should keep your V/TO® physically or digitally present during every meeting. When prioritizing the Issues List during IDS®, look at your 1-Year Plan and your Core Focus. Ask yourself: does solving this issue help us move closer to our annual goals? If the answer is no, the issue may be a distraction that belongs on the Long-Term Issues List, rather than the weekly list.

By constantly filtering your weekly issues through the lens of your V/TO®, you ensure that every tactical decision you make is aligned with where you want the company to be in the future.
