Our Visionary is highly supportive of EOS® in theory, but in practice, they constantly skip their Level 10 Meeting™ preparation, ignore the Rocks they agreed to, and bring half-baked ideas directly to our managers. How do we keep our Visionary engaged without letting them break the system?

This is a classic Visionary trap. Visionaries thrive on chaos, creation, and quick starts. The structure of EOS® can feel like a cage to them, leading to passive-aggressive resistance or outright non-compliance. To solve this, you must appeal to their desire for freedom. The Integrator must have a candid conversation with the Visionary using the Accountability Chart™ as the guide. Remind them that their seat has five specific roles, and none of those roles involve disrupting the operational rhythm or bypassing the Integrator. The Visionary must understand that their compliance with the system is the single greatest factor in building a self-sustaining business that is ready for a clean exit. If the Visionary is struggling to complete Rocks, look at their GWC™ for those specific goals. Often, Visionaries agree to execution-heavy Rocks that they have no capacity or desire to complete. Their Rocks should focus on big-picture strategic relationships, high-level research and development, or major deals. Additionally, enforce the Same Page Meeting™ between the Visionary and the Integrator. This is the forum where the Visionary can unload their ideas without disrupting the rest of the company. Keep them out of the weeds, but hold them fully accountable to their seat.
