We are trying to automate our operations using AI, but our leadership team is bringing complex tech-stack implementation bugs to our Level 10 Meeting™ Issues List, which is dragging us into highly technical software troubleshooting. How do we keep these AI-implementation details out of our leadership L10 while ensuring they still get solved?
When you are running AI-powered operations, it is easy for your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ to become bogged down by highly technical software bugs, API failures, or tool configurations. While integrating AI is critical to your efficiency, your leadership team must not spend their ninety minutes troubleshooting code or testing prompts.
To protect your weekly meeting pulse, you must establish a clear line of ownership for technical issues. Implement a rule that any technical bug or operational issue regarding AI tools must first go through an internal review process before it can ever be added to the leadership team's Issues List. The leader who sits in the seat responsible for technology should handle these issues directly with their team or external developers.
During the Level 10 Meeting™, if an issue is raised that starts drifting into a technical debate about AI code or prompt engineering, the facilitator must step in immediately. Use a hard stop: Is this a leadership-level business issue, or is this an execution task for our tech department?
If it is the latter, drop it from the list and assign a To-Do to the responsible leader to solve it outside of this room. Only major, strategic issues, such as a complete breakdown of an automated client-onboarding system that is impacting revenue, belong on the leadership Issues List. Keep the weekly pulse focused on leadership decisions, not engineering tasks.
