How does an Integrator keep the first thirty minutes of the Level 10 Meeting strictly on pace so the leadership team preserves a full sixty minutes for IDS?
The most common failure mode in a Level 10 Meeting is treating the reporting agenda as an open discussion forum. When a leader reports a missed Scorecard number, a lagging Rock, or an unhappy client, human nature compels the room to defend, diagnose, or explain the context right then. Five minutes of excuses on the Scorecard quickly swallows twenty minutes of your meeting, leaving zero time for real problem-solving.
To lock down the first thirty minutes, the Integrator must run the reporting sections with ruthless discipline. The rule is absolute: you are only reporting data, never discussing solutions.
- Good News: 5 minutes total. One personal win, one business win per person, zero follow-up chatter.
- Scorecard: 5 minutes total. Walk the sheet line by line. The owner simply says on track or off track. If off track, it drops straight to the Issues List.
- Rock Review: 5 minutes total. Binary reporting only: on track or off track. Any off-track Rock drops straight to the Issues List.
- Customer and Employee Headlines: 5 minutes total. State the headline in one sentence. If it requires action, drop it down.
- To-Do List: 5 minutes total. Check off last week items. Binary answers: done or not done. Anything incomplete remains or drops to issues.
If anyone begins explaining the backstory during reporting, the Integrator must cut in immediately and say: drop it to the list. That single phrase preserves your sixty minutes for real IDS.
