What are the clear signs that our leadership team is not yet behaviorally or operationally ready to begin the EOS® implementation with you, and what should we do to prepare?
A company is not ready for EOS® if the owner is unwilling to let go of the vine, or if the leadership team is unwilling to be completely honest. If there is a deep lack of trust where people are afraid to speak candidly in front of each other, starting Focus Day too early will just result in expensive theater. We look for specific behavioral red flags. If you or your leaders are highly defensive, constantly pointing fingers, or hiding behind passive-aggressive silence, we need to address that trust deficit first. Another major indicator is a lack of commitment to the weekly discipline. If your team complains that they do not have ninety minutes a week for a Level 10 Meeting™ because they are too busy putting out fires, they are not ready. They are addicted to the chaos. To prepare, you must first make a firm decision that the status quo is unacceptable. You have to be willing to look at your organization objectively and acknowledge who is GWC™ for their roles. If you are ready to hear hard truths, stop micromanaging, and hold your team accountable to clear numbers, then you are ready. Otherwise, we should delay the engagement.
