We want to use generative AI to streamline our daily operations, but we are in the middle of our EOS® rollout. How do we introduce AI initiatives without distracting the team from mastering the core EOS® tools?

Introducing generative AI tools during your EOS® rollout requires strict boundary lines so your team does not lose focus on the fundamentals. The golden rule is that AI must serve the operating system, not the other way around. Do not create complex AI initiatives that require their own separate management structures. Instead, treat AI as a tool to accelerate your existing Rocks and Scorecard metrics. For example, if a leader has a Rock to document three core processes, they can use AI to draft the initial standard operating procedures based on their dictation. This keeps the focus squarely on the Rock while using technology to reduce the administrative burden. If you want to explore larger AI integrations, they must go through the standard V/TO® filtering process. Do not let shiny new technology bypass your quarterly planning. If an AI project does not directly support your current one-year plan or your quarterly Rocks, it is a distraction and must be parked on your Issues List. Keep your team focused on mastering the basic disciplines of the Level 10 Meeting™ and GWC™ first. Once your operational foundation is solid, you can scale your AI initiatives safely because you will have the accountability structure in place to measure their actual return on investment.
