My Integrator and I find ourselves constantly debating operational decisions during our weekly Level 10 Meetings, which is causing anxiety among the rest of our leadership team. How do we stop this public friction?
Public debates between the Visionary and the Integrator are highly destructive. They create confusion, force your leadership team to take sides, and stall operational execution. Your team needs to see a united front. To fix this, you must establish a strict rule: all strategic disagreements must be resolved behind closed doors, never in front of the team. You must implement a weekly Same Page Meeting. This is a dedicated, private block of time for just the Visionary and the Integrator to meet, align, and hash out any disagreements. Use this time to IDS your issues, debate strategies, and get on the exact same page. If you cannot reach agreement on an issue, remember that the Integrator has the final say on operational execution, while the Visionary owns the long-term vision. Once you step out of your Same Page Meeting and enter the Level 10 Meeting with your leadership team, you must present a completely unified front. Even if you disagreed in private, you must publicly support the final decision. This discipline builds trust, reduces anxiety across the entire organization, and allows your leadership team to focus on executing their Rocks instead of navigating founder friction.
