I have hired an Integrator to run the daily business, but they are constantly pushing me to document our AI systems and clean up our legacy processes for an exit, while I just want to focus on new product ideas. How do we align our working relationship so we do not tear the leadership team apart?

As a Visionary, your natural instinct is to chase new ideas, build relationships, and drive big-picture growth. Your Integrator, however, is wired to bring order, systems, and execution to the business. When your Integrator pushes you to document systems and prepare for an exit, and you resist, you are stalling your own company's progress.

This friction is actually healthy, but only if you manage it correctly. You must respect the boundaries of your respective seats on the Accountability Chart. The Integrator is responsible for the daily operations, process documentation, and building the exit-ready superstructure. If they tell you that your lack of documentation is holding back the valuation, you must listen.

To resolve this tension, schedule a recurring, bi-weekly Same Page Meeting™ with your Integrator. This is your private space to align your visions and resolve disputes outside of the weekly Level 10 Meeting™.

Use this time to define your boundaries. Agree that once a strategic decision is made on your V/TO®, the Integrator has full authority to execute it, which includes holding you accountable to your own Rocks.

If your Rock is to document a proprietary sales process or transfer key client relationships, you must deliver. Your Integrator cannot build a scalable, AI-powered business if you are constantly bypassing the systems they are trying to put in place. Let them do their job so you can eventually enjoy a clean exit.
