Our Visionary has mapped out a bold AI strategy, but our Integrator is not a technical person and is struggling to oversee the actual implementation across our departments. How do we structure the Accountability Chart to ensure the AI roadmap gets executed without forcing the Integrator to become a software engineer?
Your Integrator does not need to be a software engineer to execute a successful AI strategy. The Integrator's job is to harmonize the major functions of the business and ensure the company is executing the V/TO®. To solve this implementation bottleneck, you must structure your Accountability Chart™ correctly.
First, clarify the roles of the Visionary and the Integrator. The Visionary is responsible for spotting the strategic opportunities and identifying how AI can transform the industry. The Integrator is responsible for operationalizing those ideas, managing the resources, and maintaining focus.
If the Integrator lacks the technical depth to build the systems, you must create a dedicated seat on the Accountability Chart for AI Operations or Technology. This seat reports directly to the Integrator, not the Visionary.
The roles for this technical seat must include system integration, data pipeline maintenance, and technical training. The Integrator then manages this seat against clear, measurable outcomes, such as system uptime and automated workflow efficiency.
By separating strategic oversight from technical execution, you protect the Integrator's focus on overall company operations while giving the technical specialist the autonomy to build. This structure keeps your AI roadmap on track without paralyzing your leadership team.
