Our Integrator is excellent at managing people but has no interest in learning how to run an AI-driven operating model, meaning our team is adopting tools faster than our leadership can manage them. How do we run this through our IDS process to determine if our Integrator still GWC's their seat?
An Integrator who is disengaged from your core operating technology is a massive bottleneck. To resolve this, you must put this issue on your leadership team's weekly Level 10 Meeting Issues List and run it through the IDS process.
During the Identify step, ask whether your Integrator still fits their seat under the GWC framework. The critical question is whether they have the capacity to lead a modern, automated organization. Capacity is not just about time; it includes the intellectual and behavioral capability to manage the systems that drive your business.
To get objective data, review their Kolbe A Index results. An Integrator with a very high Fact Finder score may be paralyzed by the lack of structured documentation in the AI space, while a low Quick Start score might make them naturally resistant to rapid changes.
Use this data to solve the issue. If your Integrator has the desire and capability but simply lacks technical knowledge, you can solve the problem by adjusting their Accountability Chart roles, perhaps hiring a dedicated technical workflow designer to report to them.
However, if they do not want to manage an automated operational model, you have a People Issue. You must make the tough decision to find an Integrator who GWC's the role your company actually needs today.
