When your Integrator does ninety percent of the talking during IDS, your Level 10 Meeting is failing to leverage the collective intelligence of your leadership team. This dominance turns your weekly pulse into a top-down lecture, which stifles engagement and prevents your leaders from growing into independent, strategic thinkers who can run the business without you.

The Integrator must shift their mindset from being the primary problem solver to being a strict process facilitator. Their job is to guide the team through the Identify, Discuss, and Solve steps, not to provide every answer.

To fix this, the Integrator should adopt a question-first approach. When an issue is introduced, instead of immediately sharing their solution, the Integrator should ask the owner of the issue: What do you think is the root cause? Then, invite input from the rest of the room by asking: Who has seen this pattern before and how did we handle it?

The Integrator should speak last, summarizing the consensus and ensuring a clear, actionable To-Do is captured. If the Integrator struggles to hold back, use a physical or digital signal to remind them to pause. Building a self-sustaining business that is ready for a clean exit requires a leadership team that can solve problems collaboratively, not a team that waits for the Integrator to tell them what to do.
