Our Integrator is highly capable but tends to dominate the IDS portion of our Level 10 Meetings, answering every issue themselves and telling the rest of the leadership team how to solve their problems. How do we shift this dynamic so the whole team actively participates in problem-solving?

The Integrator is responsible for driving focus, execution, and accountability across the leadership team. However, when an Integrator becomes a bottleneck by solving every single issue themselves, they unintentionally stunt the growth of the other leaders on the Accountability Chart. This dynamic creates a culture of dependency, where team members stop thinking critically because they know the Integrator will provide the answer.

To break this habit, the Integrator must practice humility and restraint. During the IDS portion of the Level 10 Meeting, the Integrator should adopt a policy of speaking last. When an issue is identified, the Integrator must first ask the team, "What do you think is the root cause here?" and "How would you solve this?"

By forcing other team members to propose solutions first, you encourage creative thinking and build leadership capability across the entire table. The Integrator's role is to facilitate the discussion, ensure alignment, and make sure the agreed-upon solution is captured as a clear, binary weekly to-do.

If the Integrator struggles to hold back, use the rating segment at the end of the meeting to address it. A rating of seven with the explanation, "We did not get to debate because the Integrator solved everything," is a powerful, respectful way to enforce healthy boundaries.
