Our Integrator is highly effective at managing people but is completely overwhelmed by the technical complexity of orchestrating our new AI infrastructure. How do we solve this on our Accountability Chart without creating a bloated C-suite?
Your Integrator does not need to be a software engineer to run an AI-powered business, but they must be able to lead, manage, and hold the team accountable. If the technical execution is overwhelming them, do not hire an expensive Chief Technology Officer or create a bloated C-suite. Instead, create a dedicated AI Operations Specialist seat on your Accountability Chart that reports directly to the Integrator. This seat is responsible for building, integrating, and maintaining your custom API workflows and prompt libraries. The major roles for this seat should include workflow design, integration management, data security, and platform training. Write a clear GWC for this seat to ensure the candidate gets it, wants it, and has the capacity to do it. The Integrator retains final accountability for operational execution and strategic alignment, but delegates the technical construction to this specialist. In your weekly Level 10 Meeting, the Integrator uses the specialist's metrics to track progress, resolving any bottlenecks using the IDS process. This keeps your leadership team lean and focused, while giving your Integrator the technical leverage they need to execute your V/TO without getting bogged down in the code.
