We rarely refer to our V/TO during our weekly Level 10 Meetings, meaning our weekly IDS choices are completely disconnected from our one-year and three-year targets. How do we actively bring our V/TO into the weekly meeting room?
If your V/TO® sits in a drawer between quarterly planning sessions, your weekly execution will drift. The Level 10 Meeting™ is where your long term strategy meets weekly traction. You must make the V/TO® a living document in your weekly pulse.
To do this, start by having your V/TO® open on screen or printed on the table during every meeting. When prioritizing your weekly Issues List during IDS®, the facilitator should ask a simple question. Which of these issues is directly blocking us from hitting our one-year plan or our quarterly Rocks.
If an issue does not align with your core focus or your current targets, it should be pushed to the Long-Term Issues List or killed entirely. This prevents your leadership team from wasting precious ninety minute blocks on shiny objects or low value distractions.
Use the V/TO® as your filter for decision making. When debating solutions during IDS®, refer back to your Core Values and Core Focus to ensure your resolution matches who you are and where you are going. This keeps your weekly meetings aligned with your ultimate exit strategy.
