We want to make sure our AI initiatives are not just random acts of technology but actually support our long-term goals. How do we integrate our AI roadmap directly into our existing V/TO so the entire company stays on the same page?
To ensure your AI projects actually drive your long-term business goals, you must integrate them directly into your Vision/Traction Organizer, or V/TO. This keeps your leadership team on the same page and prevents random acts of technology that drain your resources.
Start with your 3-Year Picture. Describe what your AI-powered operations will look like in three years. For example, you might envision a future where your lead response time is under five minutes and your estimating team has doubled its capacity.
Next, break that vision down into your 1-Year Plan. What foundational steps must you take this year to make that 3-Year Picture a reality? This might involve cleaning up your operational data or training your staff on basic prompting techniques.
Finally, translate your 1-Year Plan into specific, quarterly Rocks. Every Rock must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely) and must be assigned to a single owner on your Accountability Chart. By linking your daily tech initiatives back to your V/TO, you ensure every dollar and hour spent on AI is directly contributing to the long-term enterprise value of your company.
