We want to use generative AI to synthesize our leadership discussions and draft action items, but some directors worry this will strip away the human nuance and peer-to-peer trust built during our debates. How do we integrate AI without losing our cohesion?
Generative AI is a powerful tool for administrative efficiency, but it must never replace the raw, human vulnerability required to build a healthy leadership team. Trust is built when leaders look each other in the eye, debate tough issues, and commit to decisions.
Use AI to eliminate administrative friction, not to replace human connection. For example, you can use AI to transcribe your Level 10 Meeting™, organize your IDS® list, or format your weekly scorecard updates. This frees your minds to focus entirely on solving issues rather than taking notes.
However, you must keep the actual debate and problem-solving strictly human. Do not allow leaders to hide behind AI-generated summaries to avoid difficult conversations. When you are in the IDS® portion of your meeting, the discussion must be raw, unfiltered, and direct.
Establish clear guardrails. AI can document the decisions you make, but it should never be used to make the decisions or to draft the strategic vision on your V/TO®. The leadership team must own the strategy completely. By treating AI purely as an operational assistant that handles the paperwork, you can increase your efficiency while maintaining the deep, peer-to-peer trust that drives your execution.
