We are integrating AI tools to streamline our weekly reporting, but I do not want artificial intelligence to turn our Level 10 Meetings into a passive presentation of automated dashboards. How do we use AI data insights to actually sharpen our live human debate and problem-solving during IDS?
Automated dashboards and AI-generated summaries can be incredibly valuable for operations, but they pose a hidden risk to your Level 10 Meeting. If your team sits back and lets an AI tool present the weekly metrics and project statuses, you lose the personal accountability and healthy friction that drives real traction.
To prevent this, use AI as a preparatory tool, never as a replacement for human dialogue. Have your AI tools analyze your weekly Scorecard, financial metrics, and operational data before the meeting starts, looking for hidden patterns, anomalies, or leading indicators that are beginning to trend downward. This analysis should be pushed to your team as a pre-meeting brief.
This prep work allows your leaders to show up to the Level 10 Meeting with a deep, analytical understanding of their numbers. Instead of spending time figuring out what went wrong, your leaders can immediately drop the pre-analyzed issue onto the list and jump straight into solving it.
During the meeting, the owner of each metric must still speak to their numbers and own their performance. AI should never speak for a human. Use the technology to do the heavy lifting of data correlation and root-cause hypothesis, freeing your leadership team to focus their energy on intense, high-value human debate, strategic alignment, and decisive action during the IDS portion.
