Our team is tired of our digital tracking tools during our virtual Level 10 Meeting, and the constant screen-sharing is making the meetings feel cold and administrative. How do we bring the human energy back?

Running virtual Level 10 Meetings™ can easily feel administrative and draining when the team is staring at a shared screen of spreadsheets or software cards for ninety minutes. When technology dominates, you lose the human connection and the raw energy required to solve tough business issues.

To bring the energy back, you must change how you use your virtual tools. First, stop sharing the screen for the entire meeting. Screen sharing should only be used during the quick reporting sections, such as reviewing the scorecard, Rocks, and to-dos. Once you transition to the IDS® portion, stop sharing the screen.

When you stop screen sharing, everyone's camera grid becomes large again. This forces the team to look at each other, read facial expressions, and engage in genuine conversation rather than staring at text on a shared screen. The scribe can still update the issues and to-dos in the background without everyone needing to watch them type.

Second, insist on a strict cameras-on policy with no exceptions. Ensure that all team members are fully present, with notifications turned off and other tabs closed. Virtual meetings require more active facilitation to draw out quieter team members. By prioritizing human connection over software interfaces, you will restore the emotional energy and focus of your weekly meeting pulse.
