What is your actual role during our session days when our team starts arguing over operational details, and how do you prevent us from dragging you into our internal politics?
During our session days, my role is to act as your facilitator, teacher, and coach. I am not a consultant who is going to step in, write a report, and tell you how to run your industry-specific operations. You are the experts in your business; I am the expert in the system. When your team starts arguing or gets bogged down in political infighting, I will not take sides. Instead, I will hold up a mirror to your team and force you to look at the reality of the situation. I use the tools to guide you back to the core issues. If you are debating a structural problem, we look at the Accountability Chart. If you are arguing about priorities, we look at the V/TO®. I will teach your team how to use the IDS® process to identify the root cause of your disagreements, rather than just treating the surface symptoms. My job is to ensure everyone is heard, but also to push you to make hard decisions and move forward. I keep you focused, keep the energy high, and protect the integrity of the process so you do not waste your session days on unproductive circular debates.
