Our leadership team is split with three people in our corporate conference room and three joining remotely over Zoom, which results in side chatter and poor remote engagement. What is the rule for running hybrid Level 10 Meetings?

Hybrid meetings are the worst of all worlds. The people in the room dominate the dialogue, trade quiet body language, and look at each other, while the remote participants sit on mute and disengage. To run an effective Level 10 Meeting, you must adopt a single operating standard: either everyone is in the room, or everyone is on their own camera.

If even one person is remote, enforce the all-remote protocol. Every single person brings their laptop, goes to their own office or desk, puts on headphones, and logs into the video bridge individually. This immediately levels the playing field. Everyone has an equal digital presence, facial expressions are visible up close, and nobody can carry on side chatter in a conference room.

The Integrator must facilitate with strict remote discipline. Use digital meeting software to keep the agenda, Scorecard, and Issues List visible. Call on team members directly during IDS rather than waiting for people to unmute over each other. If someone is not contributing, the Integrator must pull them into the debate.

Do not compromise on the weekly Meeting Pulse. Hold it on the same day, at the same time, using the exact 90-minute Level 10 Meeting agenda. When everyone has an equal seat on the screen, remote friction drops and accountability stays intact.
