I have designated an Integrator and established an Accountability Chart, but during our weekly leadership meetings, I find myself constantly jumping in to solve problems and overriding my team's decisions. How do I transition from driving the meeting to letting my leadership team actually lead?

If you find yourself dominating your weekly Level 10 Meetings, you are preventing your leadership team from growing. An effective Visionary should be the least talkative person in the room during operational discussions. Your job is to provide high-level creative direction and strategic oversight, not to micromanage daily execution.

To break this habit, you must trust your Integrator to run the meeting. The Integrator is the orchestrator of the leadership team, and their job is to keep the meeting on time, focused, and moving through the agenda. When an issue is raised during the IDS portion of the meeting, force yourself to listen first. Let your department heads debate the solutions and take ownership of the resolution.

If you disagree with a decision, ask clarifying questions instead of issuing mandates. This forces your team to defend their logic and think critically. By stepping back and allowing your team to solve their own problems, you build a self-sustaining leadership team that can run the company without you, which is the ultimate goal of building an exit-ready superstructure.
