We want to integrate AI tools across our business to automate repetitive tasks, but we do not know how to reflect this on our Accountability Chart. Do we create a brand-new AI specialist seat, or do we change the actual roles of our existing department heads?
The temptation to build a custom AI seat or department is strong, but it is the wrong approach. AI is not a separate functional silo: it is an operational tool that must be leveraged by every department on your Accountability Chart. Creating a centralized AI seat often leads to your other department heads ignoring the technology, assuming it is someone else's job to make them efficient. To drive real efficiency, you must make AI adoption a core role within your existing seats. Each department head must be accountable for finding and implementing AI-driven efficiencies within their own functions. For example, your Marketing Director's seat should include a role for managing AI content tools, while your Customer Success Director's seat should own the deployment of customer service chatbots. Your Integrator is then responsible for ensuring that all departments are hitting their weekly Scorecard metrics and using these tools to drive down operational costs. If a department head lacks the technical capacity to implement these tools, that is a training issue that must be resolved through GWC™. Keeping AI accountability decentralized ensures that your entire organization becomes more agile, scalable, and prepared for a highly profitable exit.
