We start our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ with the segue, but instead of a quick transition, one leader shares a massive operational victory that instantly triggers a twenty-minute unsolicited brainstorming session from the rest of the team. How do we shut down this victory lap derailment without dampening the team's spirits?

The segue is designed to transition your minds from the daily grind into the meeting, not to serve as an impromptu strategy session. When a leader shares a major professional best, it is natural for the team to feel excited. However, allowing that excitement to turn into a twenty-minute debate violates the strict ninety-minute timebox of your Level 10 Meeting™.

To fix this, the facilitator must step in immediately. The moment another team member starts asking follow-up operational questions or offering suggestions, the facilitator must say, "Great news, let us celebrate that, but we are moving on." If the victory actually requires further discussion or has downstream impacts, the facilitator must instruct the team to drop it down to the Issues List for IDS® later in the meeting.

Keep the segue to a hard five-minute limit for the entire team. Each person gets less than thirty seconds to state one personal and one professional best. There is no cross-talk, no brainstorming, and no strategy work allowed during this window. If a leader tries to expand on their victory, thank them, cut them off, and move to the next person. Protecting the meeting pulse requires absolute discipline from the very first minute.
