We have completed our core EOS® sessions and are ready to roll out our core values to the entire company. How do we prevent these values from becoming meaningless corporate slogans and instead make them active tools for managing our team?

Core values only have teeth when they are tied to real consequences. To make your values stick during the rollout, you must integrate them into your daily operations using the People Analyzer™ tool. This means you must hire, fire, reward, and discipline based on these values. During your rollout meeting, do not just read the values from a slide. Share real stories of how your team has lived these values in the past, and explain what they look like in practice. Once the rollout is complete, train your managers to use the People Analyzer™ for quarterly reviews and performance conversations. If an employee consistently fails to exhibit a core value, their manager must address it directly during their check-ins. If you tolerate high performers who violate your core values, you tell your team that performance matters more than culture. By making your core values a non-negotiable standard for staying on the bus, you build a cohesive, aligned team that protects your company culture as you scale and eventually prepare for an exit.
