We have been running on EOS for about eighteen months, but the excitement has faded and the weekly meetings are starting to feel like a chore. How do we keep the system fresh?
This is a common phase known as EOS fatigue. To keep the system fresh, you must move beyond the mechanical steps and focus on the health of the team. First, examine your Level 10 Meetings. If they are boring, it is usually because you are not spending enough time on the IDS portion of the agenda. If you are just reading updates and avoiding the hard, uncomfortable issues, the meeting loses its value. Use the meeting to tackle the complex problems that are actually holding the company back. Second, shake up your quarterly sessions. Do not just sit in the same conference room every time. Change the venue to create mental distance from the daily operations. Use assessments like the Kolbe B Index to check for conative stress among your leaders. This can reveal if someone is feeling burned out or misaligned in their role, allowing you to proactively adjust responsibilities. Finally, celebrate your wins. It is easy for driven entrepreneurs to constantly look at what is broken while ignoring how far the business has come.
