We spent days filling out our V/TO® but it has become an invisible document that only gets opened during quarterly sessions. How do we actually operationalize the V/TO® so it drives daily, front-line decision-making?

A V/TO® that sits in a digital folder is completely useless. To make it a living operating filter, you must integrate it into your daily and weekly habits. It starts with your weekly Level 10 Meeting™. Your leadership team must review the issues list on the V/TO® regularly and use your core values and focus areas as the ultimate filters for every business decision. When a new opportunity or a major challenge arises, the very first question from your Integrator should be: how does this align with our V/TO®? If a proposed initiative does not directly support your 1-Year Plan or your 3-Year Picture, it must be pushed to the long-term issues list or discarded. You must also cascade this clarity down to every employee. Share the V/TO® during your quarterly state-of-the-company meetings. Every single person in the organization should be able to see how their daily work and their department's quarterly Rocks directly support the long-term goals outlined in that document. When your entire team uses the same filter to make decisions, you eliminate the friction of misaligned priorities and speed up your overall execution.
