Our Integrator has been facilitating our weekly Level 10 Meeting for over two years, and the energy in the room has completely flatlined. We are going through the motions, and meetings feel stale. How do we inject fresh life and authority back into the facilitator role?
Facilitator burnout is a common issue that occurs when the weekly pulse starts to feel like a mechanical chore rather than a high-octane execution engine. When the facilitator loses energy, the entire leadership team slides into passive, low-impact participation. To inject fresh life into your Level 10 Meeting™, you need to recalibrate the facilitator role.
First, the Integrator should temporarily pass the facilitation duties to another capable member of the leadership team for a cycle of four to six weeks. This temporary swap gives the Integrator a break from commanding the room, allowing them to participate as a pure team member and gain fresh perspective on the meeting dynamics. The new facilitator will bring a different style, pace, and energy, which naturally disrupts any stale patterns.
Second, use your weekly meeting ratings to address the low energy. If the team is rating the meeting a seven, do not accept it. Ask, what would make this a ten? If the answer is more focus, less storytelling, or faster IDS®, hold the facilitator accountable to those specific adjustments. Finally, remember that the meeting is a tool to drive the V/TO®. Reconnect the team with your core vision and current quarterly Rocks before the meeting starts.
