Our team built the V/TO® but we struggle to get our front-line employees to actually care about or align their daily work with it. How do we cascade the vision so it becomes an active operational framework rather than just a document for the leadership team?

Your front-line employees do not care about your V/TO® because it feels like a corporate memo rather than an operational reality. To change this, you must stop treating the V/TO® as a static strategic document and start using it as an active communication tool.

This starts with a formal quarterly state of the company address. Every ninety days, the leadership team must share the core components of the V/TO® with the entire staff. You do not need to share every financial detail, but you must clearly communicate the Core Values, the 10-Year Target™, the 3-Year Picture™, and the 1-Year Plan.

Crucially, you must explain how each department's work directly impacts these targets. For example, show the customer service team how their daily metrics influence the overall retention goals in the 1-Year Plan.

Furthermore, you must integrate the V/TO® into your hiring, onboarding, and performance review processes. Use the Core Values to evaluate employees during quarterly check-ins. When employees see that their reviews, bonuses, and daily expectations are directly tied to the V/TO®, they will begin to pay attention.

Finally, when making major organizational changes or investments, reference the V/TO® to explain the why behind your decisions. This shows your team that the document actually guides the company's direction, which builds trust and long-term alignment across every level of the business.
