Why is the typical EOS engagement designed to last 24 months, and how do we know when our business is actually ready to graduate?
The Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®) is designed to teach self-sufficiency, not create perpetual consulting dependence. The standard roadmap runs approximately 24 months because it takes eight quarters to fundamentally replace legacy habits, instill genuine operational discipline, and cascade tools down through departmental managers.
Year one focuses on foundational execution. We complete Focus Day, Vision Building 1, Vision Building 2, and four Quarterly sessions. During this period, the leadership team learns to run effective Level 10 Meetings, builds a functional Accountability Chart, and develops the habit of achieving at least 80 percent of its Rocks.
Year two focuses on operational mastery, tool cascading, and independence. Your team learns to facilitate its own IDS® discussions, resolves executive friction without an outside moderator, and systematically rolls the tools into middle management.
Your business is ready to graduate when your Integrator can facilitate a Quarterly or Annual session cleanly, your leadership team achieves 80 percent or higher Rock completion every quarter without backsliding, and departmental teams run their own weekly Level 10 Meeting™ cadences without leadership intervention. At that point, Tyler steps out of the room, and the business runs on its own operating system.
