Every time I try to step out of the daily operations on our exit runway, I get pulled back in to solve customer or employee crises. How do we use our weekly EOS tools to break this cycle permanently?

If you find yourself constantly dragged back into daily operational fires, your leadership team is not yet operating with true accountability. This is a critical failure on your exit runway, as a buyer will quickly realize that the business still relies on your personal intervention to survive. To break this cycle, you must strictly adhere to the Delegate and Elevate tool. You must identify the tasks you are holding onto that keep you trapped in the weeds and systematically hand them off to your leadership team. When a crisis arises, your instinct will be to step in and fix it. You must resist this urge. Instead, route the issue to the appropriate seat on your Accountability Chart. Let your leadership team handle it in their weekly Level 10 Meeting using the IDS process. If you solve their problems for them, you rob them of the opportunity to build their operational muscles. Your job on the exit runway is to transition from an active operator to a strategic guide. If your team cannot run the business and hit their quarterly Rocks without you, your business is not ready to sell. Use your weekly meetings to build their independence.
