During the wrap-up of our Level 10 Meeting™, we frequently see a massive delta in our ratings, where our Visionary rates the meeting a ten while our Integrator rates it a five or six. How do we handle this disconnect in meeting perception without letting it roll into the next week?
A wide gap in meeting ratings, such as a ten from the Visionary and a five from the Integrator, points to a deep misalignment in how your leadership team views operational progress. This delta usually means the meeting was highly creative and free-flowing, which the Visionary loved, but completely lacked the structure, discipline, and execution that the Integrator requires.
You cannot ignore this disconnect. When the wrap-up reveals a major rating delta, the facilitator must address it immediately within the final five minutes. Do not start a debate, but do ask the low-rater for a concise, sixty-second explanation of why they scored it low.
Use this feedback to adjust your next meeting:
- If the low rating was due to lack of traction or unresolved issues, capture that feedback and make those items the top priority for next week.
- If the meeting felt chaotic, use the rating feedback to tighten facilitation and enforce strict agenda time limits next time.
- If the rating gap persists week after week, schedule a separate conversation between the Visionary and Integrator to align on their working relationship.
An honest rating system is your team's operational mirror. Acknowledge the delta, extract the data, and use it to run a tighter meeting next week.
