What specific homework or preparation do you assign our leadership team to complete in the days leading up to a facilitated quarterly session?
To make our quarterly sessions highly productive, your leadership team must arrive prepared. About two weeks before our scheduled session day, I will send out specific prep work that each team member needs to complete individually. This is not busywork. It is designed to get your head out of the daily grind and into a strategic mindset.
First, you must update your individual Rocks and your scorecard metrics. You need to know exactly where you stand, whether your goals are on track or off track, and why.
Second, you will complete a self-assessment on our progress. This includes rating the health of your leadership team and identifying any operational bottlenecks.
Third, you will build your individual issues list. This means looking at your department and writing down every obstacle, opportunity, or conflict that is holding the company back.
- Review your current scorecard metrics to identify trends.
- Evaluate your individual Rocks and determine what is on track.
- Document new issues that need to be prioritized and solved during our session.
By doing this work ahead of time, we do not waste precious hours during our session day compiling data. We can dive straight into solving the critical issues that stand in your way.
