Our Integrator is too soft on the team during the Level 10 Meeting, letting people debate issues way past their timeboxes without a clear resolution. How do we help a passive facilitator find their teeth and drive the meeting forward?

A passive facilitator turns a high-impact Level 10 Meeting™ into an expensive talking shop. The Integrator is responsible for the energy, discipline, and execution of the meeting pulse. If they lack the teeth to cut off unproductive debate, the meeting will consistently fail to solve root issues.

To help your Integrator find their teeth, you must first give them permission to be direct and unsentimental. They are not there to be liked during the ninety minutes, they are there to keep the team focused. They must hold everyone accountable to the rules of IDS®.

Introduce a simple verbal cue that the Integrator can use to interrupt the conversation. For example, they can say we are in a discussion loop or we are beating a dead horse. This signals that the discussion phase is over, and it is time to solve the issue and assign a To-Do.

The Integrator must also master the art of the hard stop. If the team is talking in circles, the facilitator must demand a vote on the solution or push the issue to a separate, focused session if it requires more data. By empowering your Integrator to control the room, you protect the team's time and build a culture of decisive action.
