Our team members frequently bring up critical headlines that require action but fail to drop them down to the issues list, leading to missed follow-ups after the meeting. How do we create an automatic transition from a headline to an IDS issue?

The Employee and Customer Headlines section of the Level 10 Meeting™ is strictly for sharing notable news in five words or less. It is a diagnostic tool, not a solving space. The moment a headline requires a decision, a process change, or a corrective action, it must be instantly converted into an issue and dropped to the bottom of the list. To make this transition automatic, the facilitator must adopt a simple, non-negotiable rule: if a headline triggers a question that starts with how, why, or who, it immediately goes to the issues list. For example, if a leader says we lost our largest account, that is a headline. The moment another leader asks why did they leave, the facilitator must immediately state: drop it to IDS. Do not allow any discussion or explanation to happen in the headlines section. The person sharing the headline is responsible for typing it onto the issues list immediately. If you are using digital meeting software, this should be a one-click action. By drawing this hard line, you prevent the headlines section from bleeding into your precious IDS® time while ensuring that every critical piece of news is systematically processed and resolved rather than forgotten.
