Our 3-Year Picture relies on doubling our output without increasing headcount, but our legacy operational staff lacks the technical skills to run AI tools. How do we use the Accountability Chart and the GWC framework to evaluate who can be upskilled and when we must make the hard decision to replace them?
When your 3-Year Picture requires scaling without adding headcount, your current team must evolve. If they cannot, your business will stall. You must evaluate your existing team members against their redefined seats using the GWC™ framework to determine if they can make the transition. First, update the roles on your Accountability Chart to include AI orchestration and automated tool management. The seat is no longer about manual data entry; it is about managing the AI that performs the data entry. Second, evaluate each employee against this updated seat. Do they get it? Do they understand the new automated workflow, or are they constantly confused by the technology? Do they want it? Are they excited to learn these new systems, or are they quietly resisting and longing for the old manual ways? Do they have the capacity to do it? Do they possess the cognitive and conative ability to operate at this higher strategic level? If the answer to any of these is no, you have a People Issue. You cannot afford to keep people in seats they do not GWC™ just out of loyalty. If training does not quickly close the gap, you must make the hard decision to replace them with individuals who possess the natural aptitude for AI-driven operations. Keeping the wrong person in the seat will prevent you from hitting your 10-Year Target.
