Our Visionary is highly creative but struggles with structure and accountability. How do you handle resistance from strong-willed founders during our sessions to keep us from losing operational momentum?

It is completely normal for a visionary founder to push back against the structure of a disciplined operating system. Visionaries are naturally built to create, disrupt, and move fast, which means they often view processes, scorecards, and strict accountability as restrictive cages.

My role as your facilitator is to guide strategic conversations and handle that resistance directly without letting the team lose its momentum. I use two primary strategies to navigate this dynamic.

First, I pivot the discussion back to the agreed-upon rules of the system. We do not argue over personal opinions; we look at the data on your Scorecard and the commitments on your V/TO®. By depersonalizing the friction, we can address operational bottlenecks without making the founder feel attacked.

Second, I help the founder see that structure is actually the key to their freedom. When the rest of the leadership team is operating with high accountability and clear Rocks, the Visionary is finally freed up to focus on their true strengths, like big-picture ideas, key relationships, and industry innovation. I will always protect the integrity of the process, ensuring that even the most powerful personality in the room remains accountable to the team.
