How do you handle a leadership team member who repeatedly shows up to session days unprepared, with incomplete Rocks and undocumented metrics?

If a leadership team member repeatedly shows up to session days unprepared, it is an issue we must address immediately and directly inside the room. Incomplete Rocks and missing metrics are symptoms of a deeper issue, usually a lack of commitment or a GWC™ misalignment.

During our session days, we do not brush over missed targets. We place the incomplete Rock or missing metric directly onto our issues list and use IDS® to get to the root cause. This is not about public shaming, but about maintaining the high standards of accountability required to run a high-performing business.

We will examine whether the leader had too many priorities, lacked the resources to execute, or simply is not the right fit for their seat on the Accountability Chart. If the behavior is a pattern, it threatens the trust of the entire leadership team.

My role as your implementer is to hold up a mirror to this behavior. I will facilitate the conversation so the team can address the performance gap honestly. We will leave the session with a clear, documented plan to resolve the accountability issue, ensuring that everyone in the room is fully committed to our shared goals.
