What happens if a core member of my leadership team shows up to session days, participates politely, but consistently fails to execute their Rocks between quarters?

Polite participation paired with poor execution is a dangerous form of passive resistance. In our session days, we do not tolerate performance gaps. We use the Accountability Chart and the GWC filter to diagnose the root cause of the issue.

First, we evaluate if the leader is in the right seat. Often, a highly skilled technical specialist is promoted into a leadership role that does not match their innate talents. If they pass the GWC test but still fail to deliver, we address the behavioral gap directly. We refer back to Our Charter, which demands open, honest communication. We look at the metrics, identify the obstacles, and use the IDS process to clear them. If alignment and performance cannot be reached after clear coaching, we make the tough decision to transition them out of the seat to protect team health.
