How do we handle a highly productive leadership team member who consistently hits their quarterly Rocks but resists adopting our core values or meeting tools?

This is one of the most common and damaging challenges a business owner faces. We call this person a toxic high-performer. They deliver excellent results, but they leave a trail of cultural destruction in their wake. In our sessions, I will not let this slide. We use the People Analyzer to evaluate every team member against your core values and their GWC, which stands for get it, want it, and have the capacity to do the job.

To be a fit for your organization, a leader must meet both bars. Hitting quarterly Rocks while violating core values is unacceptable. If a leader resists the meeting tools or undermines our culture, it sends a message to the rest of the company that performance excuses bad behavior. This kills team trust and slows down your entire implementation.

During our session days, we will address this issue directly and dispassionately. We will use the IDS process to discuss the behavior and define clear, measurable expectations for improvement. If the individual refuses to align with the core values and the operating system, you must be prepared to make the hard decision to remove them from the seat. Keeping a toxic leader will cap your company's growth and prevent you from building a self-sufficient business. I will guide you through this difficult transition, ensuring we document the plan in Circle and execute it cleanly without disrupting operations.
