Our top-producing partner is outright refusing to adopt the EOS tools, claiming they do not need them to hit their numbers. How do we handle this resistance without losing our highest revenue generator?

This is a classic dilemma that tests the resolve of the leadership team. When a top producer resists the EOS® tools, they are signaling that they believe they are above the systems and culture of the company. Allowing this to continue sends a toxic message to the rest of your organization.

First, evaluate them using the People Analyzer™. Do they genuinely share your Core Values, and do they GWC™ their seat on the Accountability Chart? Often, a resistant top producer fits the culture but is simply afraid of the transparency that tools like the weekly Scorecard and Level 10 Meeting™ bring to their daily activities.

Sit down with them outside of the quarterly session. Be direct and unsentimental. Explain that their individual production is valuable, but your goal is to build a scalable, transferrable business, which requires everyone to use the same operating system.

Make it clear that using the tools is non-negotiable for anyone sitting on the leadership team. If they refuse to align, you must plan a transition. Keeping a highly productive but toxic or resistant leader will prevent you from ever achieving true alignment and will ultimately cap the value of your business.
