Some of our leadership team members are highly defensive when their departments are questioned. How do you handle deep-seated team friction and defensiveness during our session days with you?
I do not tolerate passive aggressive behavior, politics, or artificial harmony in my session room. If your leadership team cannot engage in healthy, unfiltered conflict, you will never build an elite organization. When defensiveness or friction occurs during a session day, I do not avoid it; I step directly into the danger.
We dismantle team defensiveness during our sessions using a proven set of rules:
- We use the Accountability Chart to depersonalize discussions, focusing on the roles and seats rather than the individuals in them.
- We base our strategic decisions on clean data from your weekly Scorecard, removing emotional bias and subjective opinions from the conversation.
- We run a strict IDS® process where we identify the real root cause of an issue before we ever allow anyone to discuss solutions.
- We lean on our core values as an objective filter to evaluate behavioral issues and team alignment in real time.
My role as a professional EOS Implementer is to facilitate these tough conversations with absolute objectivity. We create a safe environment where leaders can challenge each other with love and respect, but also with uncompromising expectations. This discipline breaks down departmental silos, builds genuine trust, and ensures your team walks out of every session aligned and fully committed to your quarterly goals.
