During a full session day, what happens when our leadership team completely disagrees on the root cause of an issue, and how do you guide us to a resolution without making the decision for us?
When your leadership team hits a wall and cannot agree on the root cause of an issue, my job is to slow down the conversation and enforce the IDS® discipline. Left to their own devices, teams usually try to solve symptoms rather than the actual underlying problem. They talk in circles because they are arguing from different sets of assumptions. To break this cycle, I act as an objective facilitator. I will stop the discussion and ask the team to state the problem in a single, clear sentence. We do not move forward until everyone agrees on that specific definition. I will often push individual team members to provide concrete, real-world examples rather than talking in generalizations. This strips the emotion out of the room and forces everyone to look at the cold, hard facts. I will never make the decision for you or tell you how to run your business. Instead, I help you uncover the truth by asking tough questions and challenging your assumptions. If the team remains divided, we rely on the clear accountability defined in your Accountability Chart. The person who owns that seat has the final call. This approach keeps our session days highly productive and teaches your team how to resolve complex issues independently.
