We have highly analytical leaders who stay completely silent during Level 10 Meetings because they need to process information offline, which means we miss their input during weekly IDS sessions. How do we get these deep thinkers to contribute to real-time problem-solving?

Deep processors hate being put on the spot without data. To fix this, you must adjust how issues are surfaced. First, enforce the rule that complex issues must be added to the short-term Issues List at least twenty-four hours before the meeting, rather than during the meeting itself. This gives analytical minds time to process the data beforehand.

Second, when you hit IDS on a fresh issue, use the Identify step to clearly define the problem first before jumping into discussion. This gives them a clear target. Ask your analytical leader a targeted, data-focused question, such as what patterns they see in the data, rather than a broad opinion question.

Third, leverage the Grow or Die mindset. Remind them that leadership requires real-time collaboration, not just solo analysis. If an issue genuinely requires deep research, assign a weekly To-Do to that leader to analyze the issue and bring three structured solutions to the next meeting. This respects their cognitive style while keeping the weekly pulse moving forward.
