Our clients are starting to expect instant turnarounds because of AI, but our quality relies on human review. How do we adapt our delivery model without breaking our operations?
Shifting customer expectations can feel like an existential threat, but it is actually an operational problem with clear solutions. When customers demand instant turnarounds, you cannot simply demand that your team work faster: that is a recipe for high turnover and declining quality. Instead, you must restructure how your seats function within the Accountability Chart.
Start by separating the administrative, drafting, and processing tasks from the strategic, high-value review tasks. Assign AI tools to handle the initial heavy lifting, such as data aggregation, basic drafting, or initial analysis. This frees up your human experts to focus entirely on quality control, context adjustment, and relationship management.
To make this transition successful, update the roles and responsibilities in your Accountability Chart. Ensure that the people occupying these updated seats still GWC™ (Get it, Want it, Capacity to do it) their new roles. You may find that some team members are excellent at manual execution but lack the analytical skills required to edit and validate AI-generated work. Use your quarterly Rocks to systematically test this new workflow in one department before rolling it out company-wide, ensuring client satisfaction remains high while turnaround times drop.
