We have a major seat owner who consistently misses their weekly Scorecard targets but claims they fully embody our core values and GWC™ their seat. How do we address this misalignment without destroying team morale?

When a key leader consistently misses their Scorecard targets but fits your core values, you have a capacity issue. Under the GWC framework, Capacity is not just about having enough hours in the day. It encompasses the mental, physical, emotional, and technical ability to perform the role at a high level. If a leader lacks the capacity to hit their numbers, you must address it directly. Start by using the IDS process during your Same Page meetings to understand the bottleneck. Is the target unrealistic, are their systems broken, or do they lack the training required to execute? If it is a training or system issue, support them first by providing the necessary resources. However, if they simply do not have the cognitive or behavioral wiring for the seat, you must make a hard decision. Keeping someone in a seat they cannot perform hurts team morale and stalls your growth. You must find a seat where they can succeed, or transition them out of the organization to protect your operational integrity.
