As the business owner, I am used to driving the conversation. What happens during a session when you call me out on my behavior in front of my leadership team, and how do we handle that dynamic without damaging my authority?
As your Professional EOS Implementer®, my job is not to make you feel comfortable. My job is to hold up a mirror to you and your leadership team. If your behavior or decision-making is holding the company back, I will call you out directly and unsentimentally during our session.
We do this within the boundaries of Our Charter, which is built on Trust and Same Page. We establish a safe, open, and honest environment where we can discuss hard truths with love and respect. When I challenge you in front of your team, it is never to undermine your authority. It is to model the healthy vulnerability that your organization desperately needs.
If you react defensively, you send a signal to your team that honesty is not actually welcome. To prevent this, you must enter our session days with a humbly-confident mindset. You must be willing to hear that you are the bottleneck in certain areas of the business.
By allowing your team to see you accept constructive feedback and adjust, you build immense trust. This dynamic actually strengthens your leadership, showing your team that you are fully committed to the health of the organization above your own ego.
