We have team members who are using the personal segue at the start of our Level 10 Meeting™ to share passive-aggressive complaints about company culture or specific colleagues under the guise of sharing their personal state of mind. How do we stop this meeting segue from being hijacked for grievances without shutting down authentic updates?

The five-minute segue is designed to help the team transition from their daily operational fires, clear their minds, and get present for the meeting. It is a tool for building healthy working relationships, not a dumping ground for unresolved conflicts or passive-aggressive behavior. When a leader uses this time to take a swipe at a colleague or complain about internal communications, they are violating the meeting structure.

The facilitator must address this immediately. Do not allow the team to engage with or validate the passive-aggressive comment. The correct response is for the facilitator to say, "That sounds like a real issue. Let's drop that directly to the Issues List so we can tackle it during IDS."

To establish clear boundaries around the segue, implement these standards:

- Reiterate that the segue is strictly for one personal piece of good news and one professional piece of good news.
- Remind the team that any frustration, bottleneck, or cultural complaint must be channeled into the Issues List where it can be handled constructively.
- If a team member repeatedly uses the segue to vent, the Integrator must address this offline in a one-on-one conversation, questioning if they truly GWC their seat and align with the core values.

By holding a firm line, you protect the positive momentum of the meeting pulse while ensuring that real problems are dealt with during the appropriate ninety-minute agenda slot.
